Vilnius Old Town Apartment: A Case Study in Light Maximization
In the renovation of this apartment nestled in Vilnius's Old Town, the goal was to conquer the inherent lack of natural light, creating an interior filled with brightness and warmth. Mirrors strategically placed and a white color scheme reflect and amplify the existing light, bestowing a sense of comfort and spaciousness to the space.
The living areas unite historical allure with contemporary minimalism, revealing original brick walls alongside sleek modern furniture. The spaces are enlivened with vibrant pieces of art that infuse color and dynamism, like a large abstract painting that breathes life into the living room.
Reflective surfaces are thoughtfully integrated into each room, enhancing the brightness. In the kitchen and dining area, white surfaces and distinctive light fixtures perfectly complement the brick walls, achieving a balance between the old and the new. The simplicity of the bedroom is heightened by the natural textures of wood and brick, which, along with minimalist art pieces, ensure a serene and luminous haven.
This project is not just a tribute to Vilnius's heritage but also a step towards a contemporary lifestyle where every design element is a blend of functionality and aesthetics, inviting light into every corner of the home.
